Although I've already done a review on Elva's latest album , I feel this song deserves credit as it was my favourite on the album. (Click here for the album concept or here for the album reviews)As I see it , the lyrics lie close to Elva's heart as they seem to be referring to her own feelings in times of loneliness. Her husky and beautiful voice follows the contours of the melody perfectly and shows good play on the dynamics , especially at the climax of the chorus , "Oh Darling , I'm so lonely ..." presents a touching narrative of love lost and longing. The stripped down acoustic feel of the song is done using minimal instrumentals , bar the curt guitar chords which put emphasis on the emotion encaptured in her almost breathless performance. With minimalist production , Elva's doing everything right , especially on the vocal side of thingsand she shows that you don't need too many embellishments to the song to create a moody atmosphere.
