S.H.E will be releasing their newest album after a three year break on the 31st of October! They have already released their first single and the mv for it if you look on YouTube , as I'm unable to provide it at the moment, sorry! This album has been a very tightly kept secret in terms of what's going to be in it , so on and do forth so we'll just have to wait and see!
Here's some photos from their album to give you guys a bit of an idea of what to expect. Enjoy!
So many singers that i love are releasing their new albums soon! Sorry if I've repeated some of these updates before - I just want to make sure I've got them up here:)
-more new info on S.H.E's new album! The three sisters will be releasing their first album together in three years on the 16th of November this year. The album is called (花又开好了)(the flowers are open again) I'm really excited to see them together again , and I'm sure so are all you S.H.E fans out there!
-Angela Chang will be releasing her new album on the 21st of October and it is called （有隐的翅膀)（wings that have a shadow) . I'm guessing it may be something to do with her 2006 hit song , <Invisible Wings>.
-Lots of singers are actually planning on releasing greatest hits albums this year , show luo will be releasing his in November this year while elva will be releasing hers in December! I'm not as excited because they're just greatest hits album , but a tip for fans who are still catching up with artists' earlier works- greatest hits albums are a really good way to familiarize yourself with their older works all in one compact cd! Plus they usually record one or two singles to go with it:)
-Waa Wei will be releasing her new EP on the 10/10 this October called ＜没有星期五的无人岛＞（the empty island without Fridays).
-黄雅莉(Huang ya li)will be releasing her new album on the 18th of October called <年轮＞!
-jam hsiao will be releasing his new album in November this year. After being nominated for best make singer at the golden melody awards last year , im so excited to hear some if his new works!
-Amei will also be releasing her new album sometime early next year!
-awesome aboriginal rock band Matzka will be releasing their new album at the end of the year!
-Karen mok will also be releasing her new album at the end of the year :)
I'm calling this one an artist review rather than an artist recommendation because I don't exactly recommend him , but there are some interesting genres and styles that he brings to the table.
First of all, who is he?
Joseph N is a classically trains vocalist who released his new EP yesterday called <Believe>. What he aims to do is to fuse classical music and pop together within the chinese music scene , and to show to the younger generation a side to classical music they have never seen before.
Well, this is all well and good , and his concept and image really impressed me! But the thing is , he can talk the talk , but can he walk the walk?for all of you who are asking What Exactly Is classical Vocal Music? (me included) , I watched a few of his videos on YouTube (the link's down the bottom) and most of it seemed to be classics rather than classical. Classical is a huge genre and even covers electronica if you want to look at it technically , so that was a little but of a disappointment.
Most of the live covers that were on the YouTube page were old classics like <dream a little dream for me>,<Somewhere over the rainbow> and the famous <月亮代表我的心>. Done very tastefully in a bar-like atmosphere , just him and an accompanist with lilting jazzy improvisations.
But really , after all the credentials and all the stylings that made him out to be a classical singer , I still found his voice to be ordinary. It was smooth and obviously very well trained , but was kind of monotone and left me wanting more. Seeing his cover of <Moon River> , I couldn't help thinking that Khalil Fong's cover was much better , and in<Dream a little dream of me> , it was Gary chaw's voice that I thought would be a better fit for the song.
His EP is mostly English songs with a Chinese single titled <Belief> which was a pretty boring song in all ; no hook , nothing. And a god-awful key change at the end. A pet peeve of mine also is that even though his EP consists of mostly English songs , his Malaysian accent does spoil it a little and takes away from the atmosphere of the song. I would expect more from someone who has apparently had so much training experience as a professional vocalist.
Overall , he's not bad , but I'm not going to go as far as saying that he's great either. Amazing concept , fantastic aim of what he was going to bring , but from what I've heard so far , he just falls a bit short. However I still feel I must promote his album so here's the link for his EP <Belief> promo:
Aaron Yan , from the boyband Fahrenehit will be releasing his new album soon , and has released his first single called <Perhaps you still love me> . No MV yet , but I predict that it won't be long! After such a long break , aren't you excited to see what he comes up with this time? After Jiro's taking on a more rock feel , Aaron seems to have followed his own path (after all , he did release his solo album first) with a more relaxed ballad-prince image.
The ultimate queen of mandopop , Amei has released her new single called <Scars>. There has been no mention of any upcoming album , but this'll keep fans satisfied for now! It's only a 30 second teaser , but watch this space!~
Other than Muse , Jolin has released two other music videos , <strolling poet> , <Dr Jolin> and <Mosaic>. They both feature her fresh new look and are a brave mix of whimsical , bordering on insanely creepy. Cue the pregnant man in Dr Jolin. If you ask me , she's come a long way but her music does seem to have taken on a little of a Lady Gaga feel , especially choreography wise in <Doctor Jolin>. Otherwise , Enjoy!
